The GOLDEN METHOD – revealed!

I am going to let you in on the most simple way to maximize your physical beauty and attractiveness that uses simple math to dictate your entire workout program and cosmetic facial feature treatment plan. This is a method based on the Golden Ratio that I’ve come up with after 20+ years as a personal trainer and aesthetic nurse practitioner, and I call it THE GOLDEN METHOD. If you are not familiar with what the Golden Ratio is, here is my first blog post on the topic – HERE.

In a nutshell, the Golden Ratio was discovered hundreds of years ago by Greek mathematicians and artists. It is the formula that provides the most aesthetically pleasing proportions for art, architecture, facial features, body shapes, etc – a ratio that is organically found in nature such as in the dimensions of a sunflower, seashells, waves, and so on. This ratio also is the basis for famous paintings such as the Mona Lisa, and many of Leonardo da Vinci’s art pieces as well. It is simply a comparison result in a ratio of 1:1.618 which appears naturally all over the body. For example, if the length of the hand has the value of 1, then the combined length of hand and forearm has the approximate value of 1.618. Similarly, the proportion of upper arm to hand + forearm is in the same ratio of 1:618.

So how can you use the Golden Ratio to maximize your own natural beauty and attractiveness? Easy! After taking measurements and using the math, it will take the guess work out of determining which exercises are best suited for your body to enhance a feminine hourglass or masculine X-framed physique, or even dictate the ideal eyebrow shape and lift, best lip size, chin or jaw projection angles, and cheek volume.

Let’s start with how to use the Golden Method to design your ideal workout program. First, take the measurement around the widest part of your shoulders (over the chest) and the most narrow part of your waist. If your shoulders measure 40 inches and your waist is 28 inches, then 40/28 = 1.429. Knowing that the goal is to obtain a ratio of 1.618, you could tailor your workout program to include more side lateral raises and upright rows which round out the shoulders to bring up the measurement to 42. To bring down the waist measurement to 26 you can avoid core building exercises, wear a waist belt, and choose foods that do not cause bloating or contain excessive calories. After these slight and very specific adjustments, the ratio would now be 42/26 = 1.615, which is almost exactly the Golden Ratio. Viola!

Now how can you use the Golden Ratio as a template for enhancing your facial beauty? Let’s start with lip proportions. Ideally the bottom lip ratio is 1.618, and the top lip ratio is 1 (although this is a matter of preference and trend – some people prefer a 1:1 ratio). If your anatomy is such that your top lip is thin, your injector has a few tools to create more height in the top lip such as a botox lip flip or hyaluronic acid fillers for volumization. It is not a good idea to purchase lip fillers by numbers of syringes or milliliters alone. Using your anatomy and precise Golden Ratio measurements to dictate your cosmetic injection treatment volume and plan will give you a much better and beautiful result than budgeting 1 syringe for bigger lips.
